Carson High School swim teams sweep Reed

Carson High’s swim teams swept Reed in a dual meet Friday at Alf Sorenson Pool.

The boys won 179-56 and the girls triumphed 143-115.

Brett Kolb won the 100 and 500 free (51.05 and 5:14.40) and Carlos Torres (200 free), Matteas Klatt (200 IM), Robert Bush (100 fly), and Reece Canfield (100 back) won one event each. Carson’s 200 medley relay team and 400 free relay also won their races.

Shane Beauford was second in the 200 free and 100 fly, Emiliano Miranda was second in the 200 IM, Gabriel Crossman was second in the 100 free, Carlos Torres was second in the 500 free and Juan Brena Gutierrez was second in the 100 back.

Cady Garrett (100 back), Nicole Van Geel (50 free) and Nanami Duncan (200 IM) won for the Senators on the girls side. Carson won the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Van Geel (500 free), Sarah Sever (100 free), Morgan Nelson (100 fly), Hannah Presley (100 breast), and Andrea Urban (100 back) all had second-place finishes.
