October 30, 1936 - August 4, 2018

Bill passed August 4th and is once again with his beloved Ardell. They’re both at peace after long battles with Parkinson’s.

Nevada was his home. He was born in Silver City and later moved to Smith where he met his future bride. They wed in 1956 and moved to Carson City where their daughter Georgia was born.

After a brief stint in Las Vegas, the Youngs returned to the Comstock, then retired to Reno.

Bill had a thirty-eight-year career with the Nevada Highway Department and was active in numerous organizations. He was a Mason and member of Amity Lodge since 1961, and Bill and Ardell joined Argenta Chapter of Eastern Star in 1988. He served on various boards including the State of Nevada Employee Association, credit union and hospital, and was Captain of the Silver City Volunteer Fire Department. Bill was also engaged in several restoration projects including the V&T Railroad and Fourth Ward School.

Bill is survived by his daughter Georgia (Brian) Loy, granddaughter Samantha, sister Barbara “Bobbie” (Jack) Conn, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

The family is grateful and thanks you for all the love and support given to Bill and Ardell especially in their later years of life.

A Celebration of Life to honor the Youngs will be held Thursday, August 30th at Hidden Valley Country Club starting at 2pm.

For those so inclined, please consider making a donation in their honor to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at www.MichaelJFox.org or mail to Donation Processing, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, POB 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
