Marian was born October 9, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Teresa and Charles Stults. She passed into heaven May 24, 2018 in Carson City, NV.


Marian attended Southside High School in Fort Wayne where she met and married Edgar J. Artesani a childhood friend on September 7, 1946. Married at St Peter’s Catholic Church. A marriage that lasted 66 years.


Marian was a life long vocalist and enjoyed music and acting. She made her living, before her marriage, as a featured singer with the Big Bands. She was Choir Director for Assumption Catholic Parish in Ferndale, California. She had a part in the movie “Sisters’ Act”, and was a member of the cast of “Music Man” (as Marian the Librarian) and “Oklahoma” with Western Nevada Community College Theater Group.


To accommodate her husband’s career, they moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where her husband attended flight school for United Airlines and then on to United Airlines in So. San Francisco. Another move to Ventura, California ensued where her husband joined the California Highway Patrol. Two daughters were born, Teresa (Tina) Christine Artesani and Catherine Elizabeth Artesani in Ventura.


She earned a Realtor’s License after moving to Hollister, California and also worked as a Custom Interior Decorator. After their next move to Bridgeport, California in 1967 Marian was employed by Mono County Treasurer’s Office and became Assistant to the County Assessor. During that time she served as President of The Northern Regional California Assessor’s Office Managers Association.


Marian became widowed in 2012.


Marian believed in Physical fitness and continued her love of swimming throughout her life, winning multiple gold medals in the Senior Olympics for competitive lap swimming up to the age of eighty.


Marian is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Tina) C. Nelson and Catherine E Allen. Her grand children: Audrey M. Fisher, Lauren E. Wetzlau, Nicholas B. Allen and five great grand children.


Marian’s Celebration of Life will take place at the Bridgeport Inn - on the lawn, in Bridgeport California on Sept 15, 2018 at 2:00PM


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Residents’ Fund” at Sierra Place Assisted Living, 1111 W. College Parkway, Carson City, Nevada 89703, for all who assisted Marian so wonderfully during her stay there.
