Summer conditioning for the Carson High cross country team starts June 11 at 6:30 p.m. with a team meeting at Carson Middle School.

All parents need to be present at the initial meeting to sign the needed paperwork and receive the summer schedule.

Coach Pete Sinnott said Jackie Geraets-Rauh will be added to the coaching staff, and he’s looking for a couple of assistants.

Sinnott is stressing his runners run and exercise 1-2 hours a day five days a week until the conditioning starts.

“We need to keep improving,” Sinnott said. “Everybody who ran in the JV Championships should be going now. We are going to have a strong team next year, and there is a lot of incentive to work hard and see how good you can be.”

Sinnott has scheduled a Yosemite hike in mid-July, and there will be a swim and picnic at Marlette in mid-August,

Sinnott said all runners are welcome to attend any conditioning workouts whether they’re going out for the team or not.
