RENO — Ivanka Trump is praising Nevada Republican Sen. Dean Heller for the role he played in passing the tax bill and the doubling of the child tax credit that came with it.
President Donald Trump’s daughter and adviser told about 80 supporters at the GOP field office in Reno on Thursday she doesn’t do much campaigning. But she wanted to make a point of coming to Nevada to appear on Heller’s behalf.
Ivanka Trump says she’s learned in Washington there are talkers and there are doers. And Heller is a doer.
She says she’s confident he will win his battle for re-election against Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen.
Heller emphasized to his backers “this is a close race.” But he says he’s never seen the Republican Party in Nevada this well organized in a non-presidential year.
