Carson Tahoe Care Center, a new Prestige Care center opening in Carson City, invites the community to attend a free discussion about Alzheimer’s and dementia care at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

The discussion will be led by internationally recognized memory care expert David Troxel, MPH, who will share the latest research and trends that are shaping the way we think about Alzheimer’s and dementia care today.

Troxel’s expertise is rooted in the “Best Friends Approach” — a treatment philosophy he helped pioneer that redefines how families and caregivers can enhance the lives of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. He recently published his sixth book on the philosophy, titled Best Friends Approach to Dementia Care, Second Edition.

Troxel will share the newest trends in dementia care, including the latest research and treatments that are helping people with dementia live fuller, richer lives.

Carson Tahoe Care Center, a new Prestige center specializing in transitional rehabilitation and memory care for seniors in the greater Carson City area, will open later this year.

The interactive session will encourage questions from attendees and complimentary refreshments will be served.

The event will be the Bristlecone Room of Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, 1600 Medical Parkway.
