The Bowling Center inside the Gold Dust West has just completed a $1 million renovation.

Included in the renovation are all new lanes, pin setters, sound and lighting system, carpet, paint, bathrooms and a state of the art control booth making the Bowling Center one of the newest and most up-to date centers in Northern Nevada.

The Bowling Center is set to hold its grand re-opening on Saturday. The festivities start at 9 a.m. and go on throughout the entire day.

There will be $1 food specials and $1 bowling will be offered along with drawings for free bowling for a year and free bowling balls. KBULL 98.1 will be holding a live remote from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Carson Valley Men’s results

The following are the latest results for Carson Valley Men’s Golf Club’s Nassau tournament held on Sept. 9. Winners are determined for the front nine, back nine and overall 18 holes.

Flight A (Net): Augie Martinez 66; Nick Sutter 68; Fred Coons 69; Dan Essary 70.

Flight B: Bill Allen 67; Mike Davis 68; Roger Hala 68.

Flight C: Gary Sparks 70; John Carey 72; Bruce Sandford 72.

Closest to the pin: Hole No. 1 — Augie Martinez; Hole No. 18 — Dan Essary.


Empire Ranch men’s results

The following are the results of the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Golf Club tournament played on the Silver Oak Golf Course on Sept. 12. The format was four man teams with 1, 2 or 3 lowest scores on each hole depending upon the difficulty of the hole.

Net Score: 1st Place: Brick Ludington, Wade Walker, Jeff Surber & Bill Allen 102; 2nd Place: Robey Willis, Dennis Small, Justin Dennis & Geoff Swann 115; 3rd Place: Steve Fagnant, Rene Ojeda, Andrew Warner & Bogey 115; 4th Place: Fred Coons, Augie Martinez, Richard Brown & Melvin Ness 116.

Closest to the pin: Hole No. 2 — Mike Andrade; Hole No. 6 — Tom Harlow; Hole No. 12 — Andrew Warner; Hole No. 14 — Roger Maxwell.


Eagle Valley Womens Championship

Robin Ponte won the Eagle Women’s Club Championship with a gross score of 160 and a net of 137.

The two-day event was played on the Eagle Valley West Cours and on the East Course on the final day.

Kathy Streeter finished second with a gross of 166 and a net of 147. Mary Kay Kaluza was the net winner at 138. Additional winners were:

Flight 1: Low net — Joyce Guy 147; Flight 2: Low Net — Bonnie Macquarie 139. Low Gross — Gail Nelsen 211.
