Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Attempted burglar fails to clean up

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

TUESDAY

• At 11 a.m., a 26-year-old was arrested after a traffic stop for texting on a cellphone at Fairview and Gordon. A background check revealed his license was suspended for DUI and he was supposed to have an interlock device in his vehicle. He was also arrested on suspicion of violating probation conditions. Bail was set at $7,550.

• At 11:25 a.m., Monica Benjamin was arrested on suspicion of burglary after the manager of a dry cleaner on Winnie Lane reported $300 stolen from the cash register while the business was closed. The arrest report says she was identified by security camera footage. Bail was set at $20,000.

• At 11:54 p.m., David Patten, 26, was arrested after a traffic stop at Centennial Park. A background check revealed a warrant for battery with substantial bodily harm. A search of the vehicle revealed controlled drugs and paraphernalia. He was arrested on suspicion of drug violations and bail was set at $18,500.

WEDNESDAY

• At 3:38 a.m., Taylor Monge, 25, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after a deputy observed him behind the Carson City Inn. While he was talking with deputies, one of them spotted paper with meth in it in the planter next to where he was standing. He was arrested on suspicion of possession and bail was set at $2,500.
