HopeFest9, Carson Tahoe Cancer Center fundraiser, Friday in Carson City

Summer isn’t over until HopeFest9 sings.

The 11th annual free concert fundraiser is 6-9 p.m. Friday at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.

This year’s concert features Eric Hutchinson & The Believers, whose music blends pop, soul, reggae, folk and Americana. Hutchinson recently completed his fifth studio album, and the first including his touring band, The Believers, called “Modern Happiness.” Hutchinson has donated part of the earnings from other albums to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation and provides a link to donate at his web site because his father suffers from myotonic muscular dystrophy.

The event’s proceeds go to assisting patients receiving treatment at the center, including grocery vouchers, gas cards to reach treatment, support with rent and utilities, and assistance with medical co-pays for those facing cancer, as well as no-cost nights in the facility’s Merriner Cottages.

The concert is free and the event is supported by the sale of food, drinks, and raffle tickets to win either $10,000 cash or a new car from Toyota or Ford from Dick Campagni’s Dealership Group.

Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100 and available at HopeFest9 or prior to the event at Carson Tahoe Gift Shop, 1600 Medical Parkway; Tahoe Marketing Office, 775 Fleischmann Way; and Health & Wellness Institute, 1470 Medical Parkway, Suite 250. Donations can also be made, including by texting “HopeFest” to 44321 to receive a link to a donation page.

Since 2011, HopeFest has raised over $700,000 for the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center.
