Oct 28, 1920 - Jan 14, 2019 Jean Howard passed away peacefully on January 14, 2019 at the age of 98 in Loa, Utah, with her son, Jim at her side. She was born October 28, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois where she lived until she was married. Jean graduated from Chicago State University with a teaching credential in 1942, and then taught school in and around Chicago. In 1946, she married Barney Howard. They had 4 boys and a girl. The family lived in the high desert in New Mexico & Arizona, and near the sea in southern California while the kids were growing up. Jean and Barney moved to Fallon, Nevada in 1973. Barney died in 1975. Jean continued to live in Fallon and enjoyed many years working at Ponte Realty in the front office. She was active in the local TOPS chapter, and a member of  the Epworth United Methodist Church. In her  90's, Jean moved to Loa, Utah and was  cared for by her son at his home  overlooking a beautiful valley.Jean had an amazing life and a journey remembered. She left footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration. Jean is survived by her children; John, Jim,  Bill, Rex, and Linda; grandchildren, Kelton Cordell, Tennille Howard, Giselle Howard,  Chase Howard, Toby Seeger, Galena Seeger  and great grandchildren; April Jean Seeger, Ripley Seeger Else and Scout Seeger Else and Aadya Azalea Sharma Howard. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at the Epworth United Methodist Church in Fallon at 1:00 pm. All who knew her are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Epworth Community Food Pantry in her name. Those donations should be mailed to Epworth United Community Church, 280 E. Stillwater Ave. Fallon, NV 89406.
