Writing a Book. It is stated that Lieutenant Harold Willis of the Lafayette Escadrille, who is temporarily making his home in this city, is riding a story of his exploits in the European war and that soon it will be submitted to the publishers.

The question of operating the county airport came up this morning for considerable debate before the board of county commissioners. The result of all the talk was the retention of Brice Wilson, as manager until a permanent replacement can be found.

A dutch psychic has told police where to find the body of a California hunter missing since October, and police believe him, the Tahoe Daily Tribune said in a copyright story Monday. The psychic, Peter Hurkos, was called to aid police in several well-known cases. The Tribune reported that Harks drew a map of the area an indicated where Douglas Grensted’s campsite was without every visiting the area.

Chinese railroad workers were a big part of Nevada history, working and living in communities where the Southern Pacific Railroad passed. Quite often Nevadans would see a gang of elderly Chinese laborers doing ballast work and replacing rails and lines.

Fire at Empire. A cabin, owned by a German, opposite Statmuller’s store, at empire, was set on fire on Sunday night and completely destroyed. Loss trifling.

Chinese White Caps. Yesterday Frank Lee and young Coombs were in the rear of Doc. Benton’s livery stable looking toward Chinatown when they saw two men from China leading another toward the Joss House. The man forced along was crying, yelling and fighting to get away. The boys thought something wrong and ran to rescue the man. The rescued man said the proposition was to lock him up in the Joss House until night and then cut off his head. Officer Stern caught one of the men who was leading this man to his death. The Chinese said it was the work of the man Num.

Trapper Tells of Desert Experience. “As a result of trapping and hunting in the Utah-Nevada desert for the past 18 months I am enroute to San Francisco with the hides of 375 coyotes, 85 badgers, 275 muskrats and 35 mountain lions,” yesterday said Fred Hinkley, a bronzed young man who is staying at the New Western.

His life them minutes after dawn for one of the state’s most brutal and shocking murders in the rape-slaying of Mrs. Billiee Rhae Morning, the pretty wife of a Wells, Nevada Presbyterian minister.
