The Carson City Symphony Chorus, a performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, is beginning rehearsals for the June 9 Pops Party Concert, at the Capital Amphitheater in Carson City, and the July 4 Genoa Americana Celebration, at Mormon Station Park in Genoa. First rehearsal is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday under the direction of Interim Director Ricky Hutton at the Choral Room in Carson High School, 1111 N. Saliman Road.

The Carson City Symphony Chorus is an expansion of the Carson Chamber Singers, now in its 34th year. Michael Langham, who led the group for the past seven years, stepped down recently due to his relocation to the Bay Area.

The chorus is open to all singers, high-school age and above. No auditions are necessary and participation is free. For information, contact the director at richardjhutton@gmail.com or call the Symphony at 775-883-4154.

Carson Chamber Singers and Symphony Chorus are supported in part by public funds through a grant from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, and by private donations.
