Silver Dollars and Wooden Nickels is a weekly feature in the Appeal’s Opinion pages in which the Appeal gives Silver Dollars to those who deserve recognition and occasionally a Wooden Nickel to those who deserve criticism.
SILVER DOLLAR: To the cast and crew of Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company’s “Crazy for You.” The show was funny, entertaining as talent abounded from the stage. Performances conclude this weekend with a 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. showing today. A 2 p.m. showing will take place Sunday. Tickets are available at WNMTC.com or by phoning 775-445-4249.
SILVER DOLLAR: To the Carson High School Wind Ensemble and Midnight Blues Jazz Ensemble, who took home numerous awards at last weekend’s Music in the Parks Festival. The festival took place at the Performing Arts Center of Baldwin Park and ended with an awards ceremony at the Universal Studios City Walk in Universal City, Calif. The music teams competed against many other schools from multiple states.
SILVER DOLLAR: To all those putting on the 27th annual Fred Alexander Memorial Family Golf Clinic to be held on Sunday at Eagle Valley Golf Course. The free clinic is for boys and girls ages 6-17 and their families. Sign-in will be held from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. and the clinic will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
