Nevada receives nearly $500,000 to reduce diesel pollution in Clark and Washoe

The federal Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $478,000 to Nevada to purchase low-emission diesel fuel vehicles for the Clark County School District and City of Reno.

The funding will buy 10 clean diesel school buses for Clark County. The rest of the money will purchase five low-emission utility trucks to replace older diesel vehicles in Reno.

Since 2008, the Nevada clean diesel program has distributed more than $6 million for clean air projects including replacement of 60 school buses statewide.
