Hitchhiker busted for 80 mph pursuit, Carson City Sheriff’s Office says

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 11:50 a.m., a Carson man was arrested after he was spotted passed out in the driver’s seat of a truck in the driveway of a Mayflower Way residence. He was charged with DUI 1st alcohol. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 5:33 p.m., Tyler Lewallen, 26, was arrested after deputies responded to the area of Arrowhead and Goni on a report of a wanted fugitive in the area. The arrest report says when the deputy spotted him in his vehicle, he fled west on Arrowhead, speeding and running stop signs. The deputy followed him to Carson Street where he headed north on the freeway through Washoe Valley at speeds of more than 80 mph before fleeing on foot. NHP spotted him a few minutes later trying to hitch a ride on I-580 and arrested him at gunpoint. He was arrested on three felony counts — fugitive from justice, eluding a peace officer and possession of meth — along with misdemeanors reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI and driving on a suspended license. He was held without bail.

At 8:20 p.m., a 65-year-old laborer was arrested on DUI 1st alcohol charges after a traffic stop in a South Carson Street parking lot. Bail was set at $1,000.

SATURDAY

At 1:20 a.m., Miles Dodd, 35, was charged with felony domestic battery (3rd offense) for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend at her residence while he was there to pick up some of his property. He was also held on a Washoe County warrant. He was held without bail.

At 4:13 p.m., Sarah Moresi, 35, was charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia after a deputy approached her vehicle on West Caroline because she was just sitting in the parking lot. Dispatch reported she was on supervision with alternative sentencing for a drug-related arrest with a condition permitting search and seizure. A search of the vehicle turned up trace amounts of meth and a pipe. She was also charged with violating alternative sentencing conditions. Bail was set at $6,500.

At 4:20 p.m., a 36-year-old man was arrested at Walmart for violating alternative sentencing conditions by drinking alcohol. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 9:25 p.m., Harley Rough, 25, was arrested at the Nugget after a deputy approached him because he looked under age. A background check revealed a felony warrant charging conspiracy out of Elko. A search of his person revealed meth and paraphernalia. Bail was set at $18,500.

SUNDAY

At 10:52 a.m., a 38-year-old was arrested on two counts of violating suspended sentence conditions by drinking alcohol. Bail was set at $2,000.

At 12:15 p.m., a 36-year-old woman was charged with battery for hitting another women during an argument at a Nye Lane residence. Bail was set at $1,000.

At 3:09 p.m., a 44-year-old was arrested after deputies responded to South Carson Street for a report of a subject with a warrant. He was jailed on a warrant issued in July charging disturbing the peace. Bail was set at $250.
