A specialty license plate commemorating the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the United States will be available beginning Jan. 2.

The plate was unveiled Saturday by the Nevada Commission for Women. A spokesman said the plate is a limited issuance and will only be available through December 2020.

The license plate was authorized by AB499 of the 2019 Legislature, a bill sponsored by Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton, D-Las Vegas, and sponsored by all 33 female legislators.

“We’re excited to celebrate the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment in honor of all who fought for the right for women to vote,” said commission Director Molly Walt.

The plate is available for an initial fee of $25 and $20 a year for renewal, the same contribution as other charitable license plates. Money raised will go to help fund the Nevada Commission for Women.
