Douglas County, the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and JOIN Inc. are conducting two-day workshops for COVID-19 impacted career seekers. Workshop attendees will learn resume building skills, interview techniques, job search skills and how to keep a job.
These free two-day workshops will take place at the Douglas County Social Services, 2300 Meadow Lane, Gardnerville. They are offered from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on two consecutive days on Dec. 7 and 8 for those interested and eligible. Seating for each workshop is limited.
Topics include writing resumés, learning to keep track of a job search, interview techniques and keeping new jobs.

Someone who wants to try substitute teaching should check a job fair Nov. 18.
As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, Douglas County schools are experiencing a shortage of people willing to be substitute teachers.
The district is hosting a virtual substitute job fair 6 p.m. Nov. 18 on Zoom. The link is at https://dcsd-k12.zoom.us/j/81873078100 and the password is subs2020.
