Fallon split a doubleheader Saturday against visiting Lowry, taking the first game 14-11 but falling in a slugfest, 16-8.

Fallon took the first game at Winnemucca on Friday, 10-7.

The Wave, 2-1 in the Northern 3A East division, hosts Fernley today at 3 p.m. and travels to Fernley for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

After spotting Lowry a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, Fallon erupted for four in the bottom of the inning and never trailed.

Lowry scored with two outs in the inning. An error opened the door for two runs, and Justin Horton banged in a run with a single.

A Lowry error led to the first Fallon run in the bottom of the first, but Damien Towne’s two-run double tied the game, and another Lowry error led to the Wave taking a 4-3 lead.

Marcus Montes tied the game when he scored on a grounder.

The game didn’t stay tied for long as Towne’s single scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning, but two Lowry errors and a passed ball helped Fallon to a 9-4 lead.

The Buckaroos’ Horton scored on a passed ball in the third. The Wave kept the pressure on Lowry in the fourth inning on Steve Moon’s two-run double for a 13-7 lead, and Isaiah Diaz batted in Fallon’s final run.

Lowry scored a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Towne paced Fallon with four hits and five RBI, and Moon had two hits. Fallon and Lowry  each had 10 hits.
Bryce Adams picked up the win for Fallon.

Lowry jumped on Fallon on the second game, doubling the score 16-8.

The Bucks led Fallon 2-0 before the Eave scored a run in the bottom of the first on a passed ball.  The Bucks built their led to 8-1 until Avery Strasdin scored on an error and Tyler Austin stole home.

Kodus Wehe singled home Fallon’s fourth run and then came home on a base-loaded walk. Fallon scored it final runs on an error and Matt Davis double.

Strasdin took the loss for the Wave.

Garrette Hinshaw swung the big bat for Lowry, finishing with three hits and five RBIs. Francisco Tapia had two hits for Fallon.
Austin, the winning pitcher, Cooper Lee and Tapia combined for a no-hitter against Lowry in the first game. Diaz and Austin each batted in two runs.

Fallon had a 10-1 lead before Lowry cut the lead on walks, errors and groundouts.
