Carson City Road Report as of Thursday. The following applies to Aug. 16-22:
Road closures are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work:
• Curry Street between 2nd Street and 5th Street will be closed, Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for road construction. Pedestrian detours will also be in place. Please plan accordingly.
• Fairview Drive will be closed in the southbound direction only, this Saturday (Aug. 15), 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for paving. Northbound traffic will remain open.
• Kings Canyon Road west of Longview Way will be closed seven days a week, all day, for roadway reconstruction. Only local residential access will be provided. The Waterfall Trailhead and parking area is also closed until further notice. Please do not come up Kings Canyon at this time. Instead, please use one of the many other wonderful open space areas in Carson City such as the Carson River area or Prison Hill.
• Northridge Drive between Table Rock Drive and Ridgecrest Drive will have single lane closures with flaggers, Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for construction of a concrete barrier rail. • There will be intermittent closures at the intersections of Northridge Drive at Wilma Way and at Ridgecrest Drive. Please follow detour routes and plan accordingly.
Lane restrictions are expected at the following locations due to road/utility work:
• Long line and short line striping and painting will take place citywide, Sunday – Friday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please use caution and do not pass painting trucks. Also, please do not drive in wet paint.
• Carson Street at Stewart Street will be flagger controlled, Monday and Tuesday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a restriping project. Please expect delays and consider an alternate route.
• Curry Street at Rhodes Street will have a lane shift with cones on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a sewer project. Please use caution and follow all roadwork signage.
• Fairview Drive between E. 5th Street and Butti Way will have shoulder work, Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility construction. The multi-use path will be closed. Please use caution and follow all roadwork zone signage.
• Gentry Lane between Hudson Drive and Snyder Avenue may have lane restrictions with flaggers, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a utility replacement project.
Long Street between Roop Street and Rand Street will be reduced to one lane with flaggers, Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for roadway reconstruction. Please expect delays and consider an alternate route.
• Northridge Drive between Eastridge Drive and Carriage Crest Drive will be reduced to one lane with flaggers, Monday – Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Thursday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a roadway reconstruction project. There will be intermittent closures at the intersections of Northridge Drive and Carriage Crest Drive, Spooner Drive, and Eastridge Drive. Please use caution and follow marked detour routes.
• Rand Street between William Street and Camille Drive will be reduced to one lane with flaggers, Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for roadway reconstruction. Please expect delays and consider an alternate route.
Roop Street between Corbett Street and Washington Street will be reduced to one lane in the northbound direction, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for an electrical project. Additionally, the northbound shoulder will be closed north of William Street. Please use caution and follow all roadwork signage.
Saliman Road at Long Street will be flagger controlled, Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for roadway reconstruction. Please expect delays and consider an alternate route.
