The award was approved by the VFW national headquarters. Korsma, post commander, and Schoemeier, the post’s senior vice commander, are with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1002 in Fallon. This was mainly for the students’ efforts in raising money for the VFW’s National Buddy Poppie Program.
