The V&T Railway will start its general season Saturday, Aug. 24 with rides aboard historic Engine No. 18 from Carson City to Virginia City.
UPDATE:Due to forecasted smoke and poor air quality this weekend, the Capital City Brewfest has been canceled.

The Outlaw Flat Trac Race will host amateur riders at Fuji Park Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the main race starting at 7 p.m. Additionally, a benefit race, Firemen vs. Police, will take place Friday night with a portion of the gate cost going to benefit local Fire and Police departments. V&T Railway Rides Again – 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28
After 18 months since its last excursion, V&T Railway and the historic Engine No. 18 return to the tracks for round-trip rides from Carson City to Virginia City, launching at 10 a.m. on Saturday from the Eastgate Depot. All are invited, with or without ride tickets, to join in on the return celebration at 9 a.m. at the Depot, located off Flint Drive. Turn on Flint Drive off from Highway 50 East (near the Carson City landfill). Tickets are on sale for the general season at vtrailway.com.
(CANCELED) Capital City Brewfest – 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28
More than two dozen brewers and distillers are expected to line Curry Street, with live music in McFadden Plaza, for this annual summertime event, the primary fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Carson City. Money raised helps fund the organization’s scholarships and other community projects. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door, available at http://capitalcitybrewfest.com/.
