Carson City has been buzzing since the announcement of the Nashville Social Club’s spring opening.
Owned by Carson City residents John Procaccini and Kitty McKay, the restaurant, lounge and music venue is a culmination of his experience in the rock and roll industry, and hers as a restaurant owner and customer experience professional. The couple says their website is getting steady inquiries about jobs and entertainment and hiring is taking off as they look to open in just a few months.
Renovation plans are also underway, and McKay says she looks forward to turning the vacant building into a place where people love to hang.
“We've been working with a gifted designer creating a hip, yet homey, environment with looks, feels, furniture and staging that will be bringing the spirit of music city alive in Carson City. It’s an eclectic blend of ‘cool Nashville’ meets art deco,” McKay said.
Procaccini says he’s happy they are building upon a solid foundation.
“The building started with lots of good fundamentals, like the casual ‘Sun Porch’ where you feel like you’re dining outside. In the main dining room, we’re adding a smaller acoustic stage and warming up the lounge to achieve a classy, clubby feel.”
McKay is quick to chime in “This is not a drop-your-peanuts-on-the-floor honky tonk. The energy, the music, the food and drinks represent the full spectrum of modern Nashville in all its vibrancy and artistry, yet in a welcoming way that’s wrapped in southern-style hospitality. And oh, my heavens, the main stage! We can’t wait for its big reveal, but have to stay mum until we cut that grand opening ribbon.”
The couple brought in a general manager to help lead the business. Denise Sullivan is returning to Carson City after several years away. She is best known locally for her 10-year stint as food and beverage director of Thunder Canyon.
McKay looks forward to bringing together a family of employees.
“‘Love All Y’all’ isn’t a slogan at the Nashville Social Club, it’s our DNA and how we feel about our team and guests. We’re thrilled that our online portal is now accepting job applications for all positions.”
