A Georgia man faces a possible life sentence after being busted in Las Vegas with more than 74 pounds of meth in a trailer.
Jaquavius Powell, 26, was stopped Feb. 15 on I-15 near Flamingo Road by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper because the trailer wasn’t licensed. He was reportedly heading cross-country from San Diego to Monroe, Georgia.
He made his initial appearance in federal court Thursday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4.
If convicted, Powell faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a possible maximum of life.
