A Virginia City man died after a crash Tuesday in Lyon County, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol news release.
Louis Foster, 61, was transported to an area hospital where he died due to injuries sustained in the crash, the release said.
On Tuesday at 1:50 p.m., NHP troopers responded to U.S. Highway 50 and State Route 341 in Lyon County.
Preliminary investigation shows that a silver 2017 Subaru Outback driven by Foster was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 in the left turn lane approaching the intersection with S.R. 341. For reasons unknown, Foster allowed the Subaru to enter the westbound travel lanes and the vehicle overturned, NHP said.
This crash is being investigated by the NHP Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
The NHP case number is 210701034.
