3 juveniles arrested on drug charges in Carson City

Three juveniles are facing drug charges after a traffic stop Wednesday, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
On Wednesday, July 21, Carson City traffic deputies were participating in joint operation, Joining Forces, looking for traffic violations and specifically for distracted driving violations.
A Carson City Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white, four-door sedan for speeding on North Carson Street, the release said. The deputy contacted the driver and while speaking with the driver and passengers it was discovered they were all juveniles.
One passenger was wanted on a felony warrant for drug charges out of Reno and another passenger was in possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the release. A substantial amount of schedule 1 drugs were located in the vehicle.
The driver was taken into custody for possession for sales of schedule 1 drugs and marijuana as well as traffic violation charges. All three occupants were transported to the Carson City Juvenile Detention facility. Further investigation is being conducted.
