Oasis Academy ran into trouble with a familiar foe after a hot start to the girls lacrosse season.

The Bighorns, who handed Bishop Manogue its second loss of the season two weeks ago, couldn’t figure out the Miners in their final two meetings.

After losing to Manogue for the first blemish of the season, Oasis couldn’t solve the Miners’ defense in last Monday’s High Sierra Lacrosse League semifinal. Manogue won, 11-3, to end Oasis Academy’s run at a league championship for the second season in a row.

The Miners, who lost in Wednesday’s title game against Galena, defeated the Bighorns in the 2019 championship. Oasis Academy, a 1A school, was the only team to defeat Galena this year.
