Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said Wednesday he is awaiting the toxicology report on a woman found dead in a car on prison property.
She was identified as Patricia Moon, 27, and Furlong said his deputies had a number of contacts with her in what he described as “crisis situations.”
Deputy Department of Corrections Director Bill Quenga said prison staff went to investigate the vehicle May 9 after spotting it just 200 yards outside the perimeter fence at Northern Nevada Correctional Center. He said when his people found her, she was deceased.
Furlong said he can’t confirm the cause of death at this point but believes the crime lab’s toxicology report will answer the question.
