Carson City man dies in motorcycle crash

A Carson City man died when he was ejected from his motorcycle Saturday, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol news release.
At 12:16 p.m., on Saturday, NHP troopers responded to an injury crash at State Route 341 and Storey County mile marker 6, north of Lousetown Road, near Virginia City.
Preliminary investigation shows that a red 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on SR-341, north of Lousetown Road. The rider failed to properly negotiate the curve and entered the northbound lane, the release said. The rider overcorrected, re-entered the southbound lane, and struck the guardrail. The motorcycle overturned and the rider was ejected.
Mark McVeigh, a 74-year-old Carson City resident, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
This crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command West Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team.
