62 new COVID-19 cases in Quad County area this week

Carson City Health and Human Services reported Thursday 62 new cases and 53 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region for the week June 17-23.
This brings the total number of cases to 13,049, with 12,616 recoveries and 229 deaths; 204 cases remain active.

Carson City had 20 new cases and 14 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 2 new cases per day with a 5.7% test positivity rate.
Douglas County had 16 new cases, and 18 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 1 new case per day with a 5.4% test positivity rate.
Lyon County had 25 new cases and 20 additional recoveries of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Lyon County is 3 new cases per day with a 7.2% test positivity rate.
Storey County had 1 new case and 1 additional recovery of COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 0.0% test positivity rate.
 
COVID-19 Vaccination Update
 
As of June 23, approximately 160,310 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered by Quad-County providers. CCHHS has administered 68,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
Approximately 69,660 Quad-County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose series vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna or received the single dose Janssen vaccine) and 75,289 have initiated it (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna).

In Carson City, 27,226 residents have been completely vaccinated and 29,436 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 54.42% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Douglas County, 21,731 residents have been completely vaccinated and 23,171 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 49.25% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Lyon County, 20,088 residents have been completely vaccinated and 22,015 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 40.07% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 615 residents have been completely vaccinated and 667 have initiated vaccination. Approximately 15.03% of the population 12 years and older have completed vaccination.
