The next CEDA Business Council Breakfast is March 10 at 6:45 a.m. at The Fallon Golf Course.

This month, the speaker, Duke Nishimura, is an adviser with the Nevada Small Business Development Center who will discuss the services the Nevada SBDC Provides and learn more about the PPP and other disaster relief funding.

Nishimura joined the Nevada SBDC in 2020 as a consulting director for the Black Rock Incubator and then as a business advisor in the University of Nevada, Reno office. His experience includes business management, entrepreneurship, international business and business consulting.

Nishimura has been president of four international companies, president/CEO of 10 small businesses including 1 C-Corp, 1 S-Corp, 6 LLCs, four sole proprietorships, and more than 40 Joint Ventures with national and public companies in over 10 states and three countries.

Nishimura’s specialties include developing and managing companies in the fields of industrial medicine, evidence-based healthcare, physical medicine and rehabilitation, healthcare management, biotechnologies, emerging technologies, business consulting, strategic planning, mental health app and specialty foods.

He earned a B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and an MBA from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, with certifications as Faculty/Trainer in Spine Care, LEAN, EMT, FEMA, and Professional Ski Patrol.

His life motto is, “When was the last time you did something for the first time in your life?” and his life outlook is that he has never met a stranger.
