At approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 250 Highway 95A Fernley for a bank robbery at the Nevada State Bank.
Patrol Deputies arrived and contacted the staff inside the bank, who confirmed that a bank robbery had just occurred.
The description of the suspect was a male adult, in his 20’s, with dark complexion. The man was further described as wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a beanie hat. Deputies are currently searching the area for the suspect who fled. The FBI was contacted and they are en route to take over the investigation.
