The Carson City Rifle and Pistol Range will switch over to its winter schedule beginning Nov. 1. The range will be open to the public for drop-in use Tuesdays through Sundays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weather permitting. The range is open year-round to the public on a drop-in basis except for select holidays. Call the parks office at 775-887-2262 to verify holiday availability. Updates on range closures and schedule changes will be posted on parks department website, www.carson.org/range. Drop-in use for the range is $5/shooter for in-state residents and $10 for out-of-state residents. Annual passes are available for purchase online at www.carson.org/ccpr or in person at the Carson Aquatic Facility, 841 N. Roop St., or the Multipurpose Athletic Center, 1860 Russell Way. Group reservations are available to qualifying law enforcement, military, businesses and non-profit organizations.
