Man stabbed in leg with knife; woman with axe attacks says Carson City Sheriff's Office

 The following people were booked into the Carson City jail. All are presumed innocent until convicted in court.
MONDAY
• At 10:03 p.m., Miguel Cortez, 29, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after deputies were dispatched to a residence on Stanford Drive. The arrest report says that during an argument, he pointed one of the weapons at a woman. He was also charged with child endangerment. Bail was set at $22,500.
TUESDAY
• At 1:04 a.m., Leslie McKnight, 29, was charged with battery with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing a male in the leg during an argument at a Park Street residence. She was also charged with child abuse neglect causing harm. Bail was set at $70,000.
• At 1:42 p.m., Sarah Stanko, 31, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon after deputies were dispatched to 1100 block of Fairview Drive for a report of a subject attacking another person with an axe. They were then sent to an address on Retail Court after a woman caller told dispatch she had just been attacked with an axe in her front yard. The arrest report says Stanko initially lied about what happened. Bail was set at $20,000.
• At 8:05 p.m., a 35-year-old man was charged with battery for an assault on his girlfriend at a residence on Glenn Drive. Bail was set at $1,000.
WEDNESDAY
• At 12:23 a.m., a 21-year-old woman was charged with DUI-first alcohol after a traffic stop at Tiger Drive and Hot Springs Road for failure to maintain a lane and no brake lights. While she denied drinking, the PBT device showed her blood alcohol at 0.16 percent. Bail was set at $1,065.
