NOTICE OF PETITION FOR AN ORDER

TO SHOW CAUSE

On August 17, 2021, the Regulatory

Operations Staff (“Staff”) of the Public Utilities

Commission of Nevada (“Commission”) filed

a petition, designated as Docket No. 21-

08009 (“Petition”), for an order to appear and

show cause why Southwest Gas Corporation

(“SWG”) should not be administratively

fined pursuant to Nevada Revised Statutes

(“NRS”) 703.380 for violation of the Commission’s

Order in Docket No. 18-06004, should

not be assessed a civil penalty pursuant to

NRS 704.595 for violations of the Pipeline

Safety Regulations contained in 49 CFR 192,

and should not be ordered to take corrective

actions for violations associated with a

federal reportable incident that occurred on

June 24, 2020.

This Notice serves only to notify the

public that the Commission has received the

above-referenced filing. It is the responsibility

of interested persons to review the filing

and monitor the proceedings to determine

their desired levels of involvement based

on how this matter may affect their unique

situations. The details provided within this

Notice are for informational purposes only

and are not meant to be an all-inclusive

overview of the filing. The Commission may

consider and adopt alternative proposals

not contained within the filing but which are

related to the subject matter of the filing and

supported by substantial evidence.

Staff filed the Petition pursuant to the

NRS and the Nevada Administrative Code

(“NAC”) Chapters 703 and 704, including, but

not limited to, NRS 703.380, NRS 704.595,

and NAC 703.540.

Interested persons may file comments

on or before WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER

15, 2021.
