Watson here, and I want to remind everyone to come to our fabulous garage sale next week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. We will be in the cool air conditioned Oasis Church located at 1520 S. Maine St. Be sure to check out our remarkable bargains.
We have wonderful treasures including antiques, furniture, and so many items there isn’t enough room to list them all. This is your chance to find something delightful for a bargain price. If we don’t have it, you don’t need it! I hope to see you there!
These past two years have been difficult for our shelter. The fundraisers that we rely on to keep the facility running smoothly couldn’t happen because of COVID. Unfortunately, repairs and caring for guests continued in spite of COVID. We have survived because of community and the generous folks of Fallon.
If you visited the CAPS booth at the Cantaloupe Festival, you undoubtedly saw the jug of murky, brown, sludgy water that we are getting from the well at CAPS. We desperately need to get our water situation under control.
At this point, the volunteers and workers at CAPS bring water in gallon jugs to maintain our guests. We are using a hose to facilitate the washing machine, because the water from our well is so muddy that we can’t use the system.
Can you help us? If you have experience with wells, water systems, and filtration, we can use your advice and expertise. Please feel free to give us a call at 775-423-7500.
On a positive note, we are planning some of our activities like the CAPS Annual Garage Sale and Mystery Murder Theater, and you will hear all about it from me.
XOXO Watson
