The Board of Examiners this week approved three contracts that will provide upgrades to Department of Motor Vehicles operating systems.
The largest contract is for $11.7 million to Intellectual Technology Inc., to update the operating systems of the state’s 51 kiosks with third-generation equipment. The funding will cover the installation, maintenance and operation of the kiosks.
In addition, the board approved a $6.7 million contract with the same company to cover the cost of producing and printing vehicle registration certificates and decals. It will also cover maintenance and possible enhancements to the Print on Demand system.
Finally, they approved a $1.44 million contract with the same company to design, develop install and maintain a replacement to the Nevada automated driver’s license system.
The total comes to just under $20 million and the projects run through March 2026.
