New businesses held ribbon cuttings and soft openings just in time for summer foot traffic in Carson City.

Michoacán a Pedir de Boca Ice Cream Shop
Oscar and Selene Luna are Northern Nevada natives serving up the creamiest ice cream in town at Michoacán a Pedir de Boca.
“We make all the ice cream here. We use a super creamy base,” Oscar Luna said.
They held a soft opening in late May, just in time for summer.
Michoacán a Pedir de Boca serves milkshakes, popsicles, and Mexican treats alongside their rich ice cream.
The Luna’s storefront is on 4250 Cochise St., and they’re open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., except Sundays when they close at 7 p.m.

Diverza Source & Design Flooring Store
With mariachi music playing on Taco Tuesday, Leslie Collazo cut the ribbon on the Carson City location for her flooring store, Diverza Source & Design.
She said that she is “ecstatic, happy, (and) eager to get out there and get to know the community more.”
Diverza has one other storefront in Sparks. She carries flooring, countertops, cabinets, and pavers for private and commercial buildings. The store is on 651 S. Carson St., open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Great Basin Brewery
The Union, a downtown brewery, has rebranded under Great Basin Brewery. They marked the transition with an open house on Thursday, inviting guests to “Get Icky” with free drinks like their Icky IPA and Leave no Trace Lager.
Great Basin Brewery is located on 302 N. Carson St., and it’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Great Basin Brewery held its formal ribbon cutting celebration June 23, 2022 hosted by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. On hand was Mayor Lori Bagwell, Chamber Chair Kris Wells, the entire Estee family, Brewmaster Tom Young, and many chamber members and friends who cheerfully toasted the new partnership.
