NOTICE OF ANNUAL DEFERRED ENERGY

ACCOUNTING ADJUSTMENT APPLICATION

AND

NOTICE OF PREHEARING CONFERENCE

On March 1, 2022, Sierra Pacific Power Company d/b/a NV Energy (“SPPC”) filed with the

Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (“Commission”) an application, designated as Docket No.

22-03002 (“Application”), for approval of fuel and purchased power expenses for the 12-month

period ending December 31, 2021. The Application also requests authorization to reset the

Temporary Renewable Energy Development (“TRED”) charge, reset Renewable Energy Program

Rates (“REPR”), reset the Base Energy Efficiency Program Rates (“Base EEPR”), reset

the Base Energy Efficiency Implementation Rates (“Base EEIR”), reset the Energy Efficiency

Program Amortization Rate (“Amortization EEPR”), and reset the Energy Efficiency Implementation

Amortization Rate (“Amortization EEIR”).

This Notice serves only to notify the public that the Commission has received the above-referenced

filing. It is the responsibility of interested persons to review the filing and monitor the

proceedings to determine their desired levels of involvement based on how this matter may

affect their unique situations. The details provided within this Notice are for informational purposes

only and are not meant to be an all-inclusive overview of the filing. The Commission may

consider and adopt alternative proposals not contained within the filing but which are related to

the subject matter of the filing and supported by substantial evidence.

SPPC filed the Application pursuant to the Nevada Revised Statutes (“NRS”) and the Nevada

Administrative Code (“NAC”), Chapters 703 and 704, including but not limited to NRS 704.110

and 704.187. Pursuant to NRS 703.190 and NAC 703.527 et seq., SPPC requests that certain

material in the Application receive confidential treatment.

SPPC requests the following rates to be applied per kilowatt-hour (“kWh”):

SPPC states that, consistent with the Commission’s Order in Docket No. 13-04014 and the

resulting modifications to NAC 704.9523(4), SPPC did not exceed the authorized return, and

therefore, is not required to refund the Base EEIR revenue received in 2021.

Pursuant to paragraph 194 of the Commission’s April 3, 2020, Modified Final Order in

Docket No. 19-06002, SPPC filed its earning sharing calculation. SPPC states that there is no

earnings sharing for this period.

Pursuant to NAC 701B.010, NPC requests a deviation from NAC 701B.140(a),

701B.495(a), and 701B.675(a).

Interested and affected persons may file petitions for leave to intervene pursuant to NAC

703.578 through 703.600 electronically through the Electronic Filing System on the Commission’s

website or at either of the Commission’s offices on or before WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6,

2022.

A person who wishes to participate as a commenter may file written comments pursuant to

NAC 703.491. A commenter is not a party of record and shall not take any action that only a

party of record may take. Pursuant to NAC 703.500, only parties of record are entitled to enter

an appearance, introduce relevant evidence, examine and cross-examine witnesses, make

arguments, make and argue motions and generally participate in the proceeding.

a PREHEARING CONFERENCE to be held as follows:
