Gov. Steve Sisolak has appointed a Black Advisory Council to advise him on key issues impacting the black community.
Earlier this year, he named members of his Latino Advisory Council.
Both groups are charged with supporting his re-election efforts this election cycle.
The Black Advisory Council will be co-chaired by Assemblywoman Daniele Monroe-Moreno and Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy.
In a joint statement, the two said Sisolak has consistently supported Nevada’s black community through investment in schools, supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs and signing anti-discrimination legislation.
“We look forward to working with the governor to ensure he continues delivering results for every family,” they said in the statement.
“We’re building a campaign made of and made for all Nevadans to continue delivering results in a second term,” Sisolak said.
