Sierra Lutheran cross country had both boys and girls teams represent this past weekend at the state meet in Boulder City.

The Falcon boys were returners to state after qualifying last year while the girls were competing as a team for the first time.

Sierra Lutheran put together personal records up and down the time sheet.

On the girls side, Saige Gregory brought home a fifth place individual medal with a time of 21:42.2.

Kailey Fitzpatrick came in 15th with a time of 24:03 while Vanessa James came in 21st with a time of 25:10.

Christi Kennedy set a new PR, finishing in 26:30 to place 29th.

The Falcon boys were fifth as a unit.

Max Woelfel came in 16th with a PR time of 19:13 while Josh Fox came in 18th with a PR time of 19:20.

Chandler Ricks crossed the line in 32nd with a PR time of 20:15.

Anton Granata was 34th with a PR time of 20:23 and Cameron Bourne came in 50th with a PR time of 24:50.

"It was an amazing day to watch all the athletes hard work come together so they could run as well as they did. Both the boys and the girls put together great racing strategies to come out with new personal records. This course is flat and fast, and the athletes took advantage of that,” said Falcon head coach Robin Williams. “The boys' team is young, they are all freshmen and sophomores. The girls' team has three seniors. I will miss these girls, but I am also looking forward to seeing younger runners come into the program next year."

Carson High boys and Dayton results

The Senator boys didn’t come home with a state title like the girls team, but still had several successful finishes.

After getting clogged up at the start, sophomore Sawyer Macy was the first Carson High representative to finish on the boys side.

Macy took 17th in 17:00.

Freshman Sean Thornton was 40th for Carson while sophomore Alex Miner was 41st.

Dayton High’s lone representative at the state meet was sophomore Allison Hoffman.

Hoffman put together a time of 22:32.3 to take 30th for the Dust Devils.
