Candy Cane Express, Train of Lights return to the Comstock

The Virginia Truckee Railroad Holiday steam trains depart from the original 1870 depot in Virginia City.

The Candy Cane Express will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons beginning Nov. 25 at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. through Dec. 18.

The 45-minute journey includes a trip to Santa’s workshop, a reading of “T’was The Night Before Christmas,” singalongs, and a visit to Jolly Old Elf and his friend “Lollypop.” All seats are $28 and will be sold in reserved groups of two and four with lap babies traveling for free.

The Train O’ Lights will bring to life a holiday fantasy land. Each guest will receive a bag of treats including a light stick and other surprises. Hot chocolate and cider will be served as holiday music will complete the festival trip.

Rides start at 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 8 p.m. beginning Nov. 25 and running Friday and Saturday evenings through Dec. 17. All seats are $36 and will be sold in reserved groups of two and four.
