Sheriff: Man held on 11 felony weapons charges

Manuel Salvador Gil Solano, 32, was arrested on suspicion of four counts of possession of a stolen firearm, seven counts of possession of a firearm by an illegal immigrant, suspended registration and no proof of insurance after a traffic stop by Carson City Sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday.

He was stopped at 10:54 a.m. on Airport Road.

The guns included: a Gen 5 Glock, stolen in Sparks; a Winchester Model 70 270, stolen in Reno; a Browning Citori 12-gauge shotgun stolen in Reno; a Remington SP-10 Magnum 12-gauge shotgun, stolen in Reno; a Browning Model 2000 12-gauge shotgun; a CMMG Inc AR style rifle; and an AK 47 type semi-auto rifle.

Bail was set at $30,849 on the 11 felony charges and two misdemeanors.

Also arrested on Tuesday was a 40-year-old man from Carson City on suspicion of child abuse. The man was impaired when deputies made contact with him at urgent care after he took his daughters to seek medical care. Bail was set at $80,000.
