Electric train of lights and pumpkin patch trains will light up the fall season on the Comstock.
The spirited collection of themed steam train rides on the Virginia Truckee Railroad includes a pumpkin patch train powered by steam engine No. 29 and will feature a stop at the Gold Hill Depot Pumpkin Patch.
Passengers will board in Virginia City and depart the train at Gold Hill to choose a favorite pumpkin. All the cars will be open-air, so guests are asked to dress warmly and bring a costume, if preferred. Trains fill up fast, so reservations are strongly recommended.
The pumpkin patch train will run Oct. 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 11:20 a.m., 1:20 p.m., and 3 p.m. For those who want a haunted pumpkin patch, the pumpkin dusk train will run on Oct. 15, 21, 22 at 5 p.m. Fares for both trains will be $24 for adults and $16 for children ages 5-12 and will include a pumpkin.
An electric haunted train of lights will run Oct. 29, 30, and 31 at 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Fares will be $22 for adults and $17 for children.
