A 2-1 win over Reed on Tuesday has the Carson girls soccer team looking to host a game in the postseason.

Reed (8-6-2) scored the first goal, but less than two minutes later, the Senators answered.

Senior captain Lena Alvarado got the ball in the far corner off the ensuing kickoff and was able to put it around the Raider keeper, who had gotten stuck out of position.

In the 75th minute, Vanessa Quezado took a shot that glanced off the Reed keeper and trickled in as the game-winner.

“It’s just so nice when our midfielders start to take shots and realize that every shot, you can make it,” said senior captain Gracie Walt.

Carson has punched a ticket to the postseason. Where the Senators will finish in the final standings is not yet decided.

“We really want that home playoff game. We’re so good on our home field,” said Alvarado.

UP NEXT: Carson (10-6-2, 8-6-1 in league games) hosts Bishop Manogue (5-10-2, 4-7-2) on Tuesday in the Senators’ home finale, which will also double as Senior Night.
