Follow the oath

Presidential Oath of Office: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Senate and House of Representatives Oath of Office: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Every person serving in political office takes an oath and should live by these words or they are not being honest about the responsibility they are about to undertake.

Think about the people you have voted for previously — is the world or your city moving in a more positive direction with them being in office? You, as the voter, have a responsibility at election time to vote wisely for the best person who is morally and ethically committed to make our country a better place.

If we all lived by these words, there would be less turmoil in our world.

Support those who have shown they are qualified to do the job.

God bless us all.
