Long time Northern Nevada broadcaster John Potter will be the guest speaker at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting.

The public is invited to attend what should be an informative and entertaining event. The meeting takes place at noon Tuesday in the Brewery Arts Center’s Grand Ballroom.

Potter spent more than 20 years at KTVN Channel 2, most notably as morning news anchor, and is a familiar face to local TV viewers.

“I spent the majority of my career in Northern Nevada and now call it home,” he said. “I will talk about the stories that impacted my life. Especially the one where I met my wife,” he said with a wink.

Potter will also share stories, some comical, from his early career, working one office away from Walter Cronkite, and the people who helped him along the way.

Potter now works as an advocate for senior citizens. Anyone interested in attending the meeting should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com. To learn more about the Rotary Club of Carson City visit www.carsonrotary.org.
