The University of Nevada, Reno has entered a pre-development agreement with Edgemoor Infrastructure and Real Estate to develop two acres of university property south of the existing campus into a new business college and hospitality center.
The project would be developed on 2.2 acres of property UNR owns between 9th Street and Interstate 80.
The project would be the home of the Mathewson University Gateway and include a new business college and a hospitality center, developed through a public-private partnership with Edgemoor.
UNR President Brian Sandoval said the project is critically important for UNR and the city of Reno.
UNR officials anticipate bringing a proposal to the university system Board of Regents in the spring.
