UPDATE: Sheriff says lewdness suspect identified

UPDATE, April 11, 10:56 a.m.

Based on tips from the public, the lewdness suspect has been identified and interviewed by detectives, according to an email from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. The investigation will be forwarded to the Carson City District Attorney’s Office. No other information was released by CCSO.


INITIAL STORY

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male suspect who allegedly committed a lewd act on another male, according to a news release.

On Wednesday, April 5, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a male walking east on William Street near Fall Street accepted a ride from another male in a pickup.

Once inside the truck, the driver offered the male money and committed a lewd act on the victim, according to the release. The victim jumped out of the moving vehicle and sustained minor injuries.

The victim took photographs of the suspect vehicle as it drove west on William Street toward North Carson Street. The truck is described as a gray, early-2000s model Toyota Tundra extended cab. The truck had an American flag sticker on the driver’s side of the rear window.

The suspect was described as an older white male in his 60s to 70s, clean shaven with gray hair.

The case number is 2023-2036.
