On Jan. 27, Carson City Elks Lodge No. 2177 held a fundraiser for Night Off The Streets.

Ticket sales and proceeds from the silent auction and raffle garnered $7,411 for the event.

This was augmented by a community investment program grant from the state and national Elks Foundation of $1,548. A local Elk donated an additional $52 to round up the grant to $1,600. Total raised was $9,011.

Night Off The Streets has run a warming center since 2017. Its main purpose is to prevent the unhoused from suffering from exposure during our harsh winters.

In addition, the NOTS volunteers work to direct this population, many of whom are veterans, toward other Carson City services that can aid them in getting off the streets.
