The third annual Walk/Run to Remember took place on Sept. 28 at McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City.
This year’s event drew over 200 participants and raised $11,741 for the Northern Nevada Alzheimer's Association. The annual event, held every September, brings the community together with a lively atmosphere.
Participants can choose to walk in groups for camaraderie or compete as runners. Each participant wears a purple shirt — the signature color of Alzheimer's awareness — and personalizes a banner to honor loved ones affected by the disease.
Local businesses played a vital role in this year’s success by contributing sponsorships and donating raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit the Northern Nevada Alzheimer’s Association.
